Ravenswood Grade School – Parent Reminder

Dear Ravenswood Grade School Families,

As we work together to make arrival and dismissal as safe and efficient as possible, we would like to offer a quick reminder regarding transportation changes.

When sending a note with your child requesting a change in their dismissal or transportation plans, please be sure to include the following information:

Your child’s full name
The requested change, such as a bus change, alternate drop-off location, or parent pickup
Who your child will be traveling with or going home with
Your name and contact information so that our office staff can reach you if we have any questions

Providing all of this information helps our staff ensure that every student gets to the correct location safely and avoids delays or confusion at dismissal.

A Quick Reminder About Morning Drop-Off

Our drop-off line is designed for a quick and efficient drop-off so that we can keep traffic moving and get all students into the building safely and promptly.

We completely understand that some mornings your child may need a little extra assistance, encouragement, or a longer goodbye. If you need additional time with your child, we kindly ask that you use one of our available parking spaces rather than remaining in the drop-off line. This allows you to take as much time as needed without holding up the families behind you.

We appreciate your patience, cooperation, and partnership as we work together to make arrival and dismissal safe, smooth, and positive for everyone.

Thank you for helping us make Ravenswood Grade School a safe and welcoming place for all of our students!

We have had a wonderful first week at RGS, and we are so excited to have all of our students back! Thank you for helping us get the school year off to a great start.

We have a few housekeeping reminders and would appreciate your help:

Permission Slips: At the beginning of the school year, students were sent home with paperwork that included permission slips. Please return these forms as soon as possible so your child can access the internet and participate in various school activities.

Pick-Up & Drop-Off: Please help us keep the road clear during pick-up and drop-off times. Our buses and staff need to be able to safely enter and exit the parking lots. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping traffic moving and ensuring everyone’s safety.

Morning Arrival: Please remember that the school doors close at 7:55 AM sharp. The school day begins at this time, and students are transitioning to class. Any student who is not in the school by 7:55 AM will be marked tardy.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation! We appreciate our RGS families and look forward to a fantastic school year together!

Good afternoon, Ravenswood Grade School families,

Today, an inadvertent button was accidentally activated at the school, which prompted a response from local law enforcement. Police and school personnel responded quickly and appropriately to ensure the safety and security of all students and staff.

At no time were students or staff in danger, and normal school operations resumed promptly. We appreciate the swift response and partnership of our local law enforcement agencies as well as your continued support and understanding.

Thank you,

Good evening, Jackson County Schools families. This is a notification that all schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

While many roads in our area are clear, we recognize that some are still impacted, especially in the southern part of our county. Our teams have been out monitoring roads all day and have determined that some bus routes need to be abbreviated.

To see if your child’s route is affected, please visit tinyurl.com/2by7hl28 or check the Jackson County Schools website for updates. Thank you, and have a wonderful evening.
